Exhibitions/Art Fairs

New exhibition from 10th October to the end of November

Preview for the press on October 9, 2024

As part of an art collaboration between the Aleph Art Gallery and the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera, a selection of international and regional contemporary artists will be presented from October 2024. The collaboration will last for one year and include three exhibitions that will be shown within this period. The first exhibition will be officially opened on October 9, 2024 at 7 p.m. with a vernissage of five international and contemporary positions.

The collaboration combines the French art de vivre concept of the Sofitel properties with the creativity of the participating artists. This symbiosis creates a framework for the art presentation and invites visitors to be impressed by the creative atmosphere and ambience of the five-star superior hotel.

Participating artists include Sieglinde Gros, Elke Emmy Laubner, Stuart Lawson and Karen Shahverdyan, whose impressive works of art are regularly presented at international art fairs and find their place in private art collections:

  • The sculptor Sieglinde Gros creates expressive wooden sculptures that captivate with their raw, archaic aesthetics and deliberately visible traces of processing. Her figures encourage reflection on human emotions and existence and reflect a profound humanity.
  • Elke Emmy Laubner works as a painter and photographer at the interface between the digital world of images and traditional painting. In her works, she transforms photographic and media templates into painted, surreal image spaces that put our viewing habits in the digital age to the test.
  • British photographer Stuart Lawson captures the elegance and dynamism of ballerinas, athletes and contemporary personalities in his images. His technique of translating movement into light and form brings out their aesthetic beauty and captures the magic of the fleeting moment.
  • Karen Shahverdyan, a German-Armenian painter and graphic designer, masterfully combines traditional painting techniques with modern, surrealist approaches. His works creatively question the boundaries between reality and fiction and inspire with their complex symbolism and technical precision.

The Aleph Art Gallery was founded in Darmstadt in 2022 by entrepreneur Salomea Rathmann. The gallery aims to act as a bridge between different cultures and to focus on representational, international art. Great importance is attached to the fact that the artists represented express their free creativity through sound skills in artistic techniques.

Successful participation in the Discovery Art Fair 2023

After the success of last year, the Aleph Art Gallery was again at the Discovery Art Fair in Frankfurt with the theme "The dream of flying" was represented - and the enthusiasm was palpable. Our stand, centrally located, served as a meeting point for artists, art lovers and gallery owners at the beginning of November.

The fair proved to be a huge success for the gallery. Seeing familiar faces and exchanging ideas with visitors created a unique atmosphere. The personal connections made at the fair helped showcase art not just as a medium, but as a living community.

The positive response to our five artists strengthens our commitment to enriching the contemporary art scene. We look back with gratitude on a successful Discovery Art Fair and are optimistic about the future.

Discovery Art Fair established itself several years ago as a platform for discovering international contemporary art and will be presenting contemporary art in Frankfurt am Main for the fifth time. More than 120 international exhibitors from all over the world will be showing their art. In addition to classic gallery programs, the fair offers a forum for art that is looking for new ways of presentation and marketing. Temporary or pop-up galleries, producer galleries, art mediators and the artists themselves bring a lot of enthusiasm for art and convey the excitement of this event.
